This is me too! I remember that my water bill doubled due to all the toilet flushing when I first began dc out of my home. So, when I have large groups, they go to the restroom (one at a time) at the same time...and only the last person flushes! I'm telling you what...it made a huge difference. It may be that my toilet isn't very efficient, in fact, I know it's not....but since I can't upgrade at the moment, every little thing helps.::

I just checked my water bills for the year. They run anywhere from $90-$140 and that is without a dishwasher. I'm thinking if I add a dishwasher and had to run it once or twice a day my water bill would be quite a bit more.

Unless you get an energy efficient dishwasher! That helps TREMENDOUSLY! Running mine (a Bosch) barely raises my bill. Same with my washer.

i use paper plates only, and the rest reusable dish ware. to reduce waste in my trash can, i recycle ALL cardboard. it really makes a difference.
i have noticed my water bill has gone up, must be all the toilet flushing. PROVIDERANDMOMOF4 gave me a good idea, thank you.

All paper. We recycle. And I write it off as a business expense. Saves water and electricity so my dishwasher isn't running all day. We have a family of 5 and 16 daycare kids. Too much work to wash.
