Infant/toddler care only???

Does Anyone provide just infant/toddler care? I am considering phasing out my preschoolers and just taking little ones. I used to like the preschool most age but I find the 3 and 4 year olds to be more needy lately then the little ones. They are so glued to electronics and tv at home... they have no imagination even when i initiate "play". I have 3 year olds who can barely hold a crayon but can buy an app on the iPad no problem. (Because they have THEIR OWN iPads)

Also...many of our towns offer free preK in school anyway and there seems to be a bigger need for infant/toddlers. I'm thinking maybe it would be less hectic if everyone were around the same age group and I wouldn't have to alter activities/crafts for each group.

I would love to do infant only care but with ratios it wouldn't be profitable for me.

I have a mix in age groups, 8month old, 23month old, my 3 yr DD and a 3 yr old and one 4yr old DCBs. the older ones give me a harder time vs the younger ones.
I think it all comes down to the fact that i have had the three youngest since birth and i have tought them how to be. I got the two older ones almost a year ago and they have behaviral issues.:confused:
I feel like getting younger kids too, they are easier to teach and they actually nap compared to the older kids

I have no infants. My dck are three 3 yo, one 2 yo, and my own are 19 mos and 4. The 2 yo is the only one who I have trouble with(besides 4 yo ds who gets crazy wild when the kids leave).

I too would love to do infant and toddler only care! I can only have 6 kids altogether and unfortunately, I can only have 4 under 30 mo. and only 2 of the 4 can be 18mo and under. So that leaves having to have 2 over 30 months so technically I guess I could have all infants and toddlers, but it wouldn't last long.

3 month old
16 month old
20 month old (DS)
3 1/2 year old
5 year old (DS)

I think once my younger DS is in school I will try to do all infants

I do prefer babies but I would want the children in my care to "grow" with my program and stay as long as possible. I also love doing preschool/afterschool activities and would love to do an end of the school year graduation/celebration. So thats why I plan on having children ages 6 months to 12 years (may be willing to take younger if I have a small group and can give them full attention).

Plus I am terrified of the possiblity of SIDS happening and children under 6 months tend to be most at risk (though are still considered at risk up to age of 1 year).

I have no small children of my own, and am definately transitioning to that. I think I may even market myself that way. Right now, my oldest just happens to be almost 3 (he's been with me just about 2 years), and he is leaving in March.

If I do this, I'm going to do a blend of RIE/Waldorf/Early Reggio Emelia program.

The only problem is our school district has a part-time 4 yo program, but no 3 yo program. So, they'd have to transition to a different program for years 3 & 4. I do know a great preschool teacher near me, but she is having trouble filling her spots, so I am not sure if she'll still be in business by the time my group get there. The rest of the preschools/daycares around her are pretty low quality, to be honest.
