Do you have one and if so do you like it? I am aware that some where recalled but I did check and the one in stores now are ok. I have a new infant starting the 2nd week in march and I am thinking about getting one.

lovethislovethis mine.
Too bad it is really only used for short while as I encourage any of my infants to be on the floor as much as possible and I absolutely cannot allow anyone under 12 months to sleep in it.- Flag

They are nice for newborns to sleep, but by the time they start daycare, they want to be moving to sleep....like in the swing, etc. They rock & plays have to be moved by your hand. I don't think they are all that great.- Flag

I think I'll be getting one if/when we have another babe. They seem like a great way to keep a bitty babe safe from big kids.
I also encourage babies to be on the floor as much as possible, but with older kids, and particularly toddlers, I have to balance floor time with safety.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

I don't know if you do or not, please don't allow infants to sleep in swings. This is such a dangerous practice to allow.- Flag

We LOVED ours, and the baby did too. The only problem we had was that transitioning him to the crib was difficult, because he was used to sleeping at a slight incline and snuggled in.- Flag

When I explained VERY clearly that the baby would be sleeping in a PNP on a flat surface with NO blankets, the DCM said "Well then I feel sorry for you because you are going to be hearing a lot of crying then"
I reiterated my two week trial policy for all children and that if they (DCM/DCD) didn't figure out a way to get baby to sleep like they have to here, they would be the ones having to hear me....calling for pick up.
I will NOT sleep train a newbie that has the complete opposite sleep routine at home.
I have also discussed the dangers with mom until I am blue and I don't think she hears me one bit.- Flag

My licensor was just here last week and when she went to check my pnp's she went over and over the deal with not letting infants sleep anywhere else or we'd absolutely be written up over it. Not in our arms, not in a sling, chair, rocker, bouncer, swing....nowhere but in a crib or playpen with fitted sheet and nothing else in it. The information she's given me about the why's is just terrifying. I had no idea how dangerous it was, my kids lived in that stuff when they were infants!
I have one bouncy seat but it's for entertainment purposes only. I don't even keep a swing in the house at this point because I think they tend to become such a crutch for infants.- Flag

I know! I have a new little one starting Tues and although they are a current family with a 2 yr old, the mom has already made comments to me about how the baby won't sleep unless they are moving so she hopes I have a swing.

In a pnp and nothing but a paci if needed. Parents should have to do the same. My bil is having baby and she asked for advice. I told her the #1 thing is in a crib, on their back, with NOTHING! She was shocked. Never heard of that. I said her dcp will appreciate her a lot if she starts it from the get go
