    Diaper Changing Pad

my beloved diaper changing pad just bit the dust. finally got a hole in the plastic. what is your fave changing pad. it has to be something that can be sanitized after each use and made of a liquid proof material. Also don't want to spend a ton on it. I change diapers on top of a movable countertop in my laundry room, but need something waterproof on top of it per licensing.

Table cloth! The kind that is plastic with a felt-like bottom. A large rectangular one can be cut in half. I just wrap it tightly around the pad and use heavy duty tape to secure it. My licensor thought this was brilliant.

My favourite changing pads were plain old padded quilted plastic ones, with a soft poly under, and a wipe-able/washable vinyl top.

Mine took a beating, because I was forever sticking diaper pins into them at change time!

We also cut up heavy duty tablecloths and see them into pillowcase shapes. It works really well, and is inexpensive. Our in the past would tear so fast from all the bleaching & wiping. The tablecloths hold up well, and arent expensive to replace.

I'm thinking an old rubber crib mattress protector/cover would be an ideal solution for waterproof changing pad material. It could be cut slightly larger than the size needed, then Velcro could be used to attach the vinyl to the pad itself. A standard sized rubber crib sheet IMO would serve nicely to re-plastic a changing pad 3-4 times over.
