A DC family ask to watch daughter a Saturday night, never done it before but i am considering it. How much should I charge per hour? I don't think that the fee for babysitting a Sat night should be the same than the regular weekly fee, but don't no babysitter around here and not sure how much they charge.

my 15 year old babysits for some of my clients. She makes more per hour than I do(based on one child's fees) Usually 6$ an hour with a minimum of 15$

$7-$10 is the going rate in my area also. It depends on who is caring for the child. A teenager with little experience for example would get the $7, an adult with experience and some form of training in child development that also has CPR certifications etc. would be paid $10, sometimes $12 if the person is in high demand. A nanny for example that is referred to others could get $10-$12 in my area but not more than that even though her regular hourly rate (for nanny) is $15-$20. Nanny's have more responsibilities, babysitters pretty much usually just get paid to make sure that the kids are fed and stay alive ::. It depends on what you will be providing and the service that you offer, but it should always be more than what you make for a regular daycare child because it's on a weekend.

I'd pay an adult sitter at least $10 per hour. We pay the 15 year old that babysits for us $8.50, and we have to drive her home.- Flag
