    Soooo Beyond Thrilled!

Friday I had finally had enough! Our playroom was a huge pit of toys that no one really played with. They just threw them around the room

So Saturday I installed 5 10' shelves (the white wire kind). Binned up all of the toys, and will only allow 2 bins in play at once . No child is allowed to touch the shelves, and I only trade out toys at nap and afternoon snack . Their play has been amazing!!! Cooperative, creative,QUIET(er), much cleaner!! I wish I had done this years ago!!

Sounds awesome! It's amazing how fewer toys actually causes so much less stress and tension for the kids (and providers!)

let me guess its closetmaid because thats what i did except I have 4 shelves. And I have to agree, why didnt I do this long ago. I also find that toys are not being thrown around they have to ask and its so much easier to clean.

I had to giggle at the "er" you added to quiet. I do that a lot with my husband when he gives me that "yeah right" look when I tell him something that isn't quite believable. Adding "ish" is another favorite.

          DH: "Is the playroom clean?"
          Me: "Yes, it's clean"
          DH:
          Me: "Ish?"

          Lol....

I just bought baskets similar to these and I can't wait to use them. They are the same thing but they aren't tapered at the bottom. They fit the cube shelving nicely and they are very sturdy, not like the soft cloth ones normally sold for them. Now all I need is the shelving!

Why is it if I am a member I can't click on the picture links and see them, it directs me to a sign in? Anyone else have this issue. I am signed in??? I was able to see the Lowes baskets but not the other link?

I don't know why it is directing you to sign in again if you are already signed in. Maybe log out and back in. Sometimes that resets everything.

As far as the other link where it says Attachment 1453...it is a photo of the same Lowe's basket so maybe it is just identifying the link ???

I am not nearly as computer literate as I would like to be.

It's crazy how we think if the kids have more toys they will find more ways to keep themselves busy...
I just stocked up on about 50 matchbox cars and thought it would be wonderful for my (3) boys ages 2 and 4.
That last about 20 minutes when they started fighting over the, hoarding them, hiding them under their legs so others couldn't take them.
I put them all away and now they have to pick 2 cars each to use during the time they have the cars out.
I keep them put away except for certain times when they play with tracks.
It's amazing how much better that works than just letting them have a free for all.
I also have several fold up doll houses, barns and other types of toys. They all kept trying to use them to build houses around themselves and when a younger child came along trying to play with it, they threw a fit that it was 'theirs'. Now, they can have one out at a time, and they CANNOT build a house around themselves.
I've never seen kids hoard toys the way this group has tried to do...

Yes, the link is just pointing to the Lowe's website that shows the same pic as the one in the post. It seems to work ok for me but I know other people have had some trouble with previous attachments of mine.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong??
