    so annoying!

I have a 3 yo who was up all night one night and slept for 3 hours one morning when he got here. I only have 2 kids, so I dont care about that, but I mopped the floor with pine cleaner and when the mom picked him up, she said not to use it anymore because thats why he slept so long, because the cleaner was too strong. Um, ok.....so the other child I have has bronchitis and is going to be out for 3 days. I told the prior kids mom that it was cleaning day today. she said dont use strong cleaners because then he will need his nebulizer! besides, he was already exposed, so i dont really care! grrrrrr!!!!! also, she usually picks up my kids from school before she picks her kid up because i cant take other child in the car. i said i would be able to pick my kids up and she said she didnt know if she would make it to my house in time for me to go pick them up.

besides that, upstairs my dog is freaking out and broke out of the cage and got blood on my floor that I cant clean up now. he is going to tear my house up! Now he is trying to get through the door to get down here! why couldnt my husband be on 2nd shift this week!!!!????

So they both said not to use the pine cleaner?

I find that really interesting that they both would say this without knowing the other one said it also!

If you had it that strong would it really cause a child to sleep to long and another not be able to breathe?

    Interesting-

Pine cleaner does have a strong scent. Which that is the part of it I love!! It might irritate the lungs of a child that has an issue with breathing. I have never heard it makes them sleep longer. If that is the case I'm gonig to clean with it every day right before naptime LOL!

Pine cleaner can irritate the lungs of some people. I stopped using it when dd was a baby because she would have asthma attacks. My mom literally cannot breathe in a space that has been cleaned with it. Honestly, with two comments from separate people I would clean in the evening so the smell could dissipate or change cleaners.

Does anyone else think that maybe cleaning with harsh chemicals should be done while children aren't in attendance? I'm not being rude, and I'm all for doing dishes or laundry and basic cleaning while kids are napping, but I save all of my bleach cleaning and such for times while the kids aren't here...

I don't use chemicals anymore but I do agree with you. I always saved the harsh stuff for when the kids weren't here. I use vinegar and water now so it's doesn't matter when I clean. I do most of my cleaning when the kids are here including floors.

I have to agree. I don't have kids in care with sensitivities or serious allergies, but ds has exczema & asthma and I always make him leave the room when I even open the bleach. Those cleaners (especially at high concentrations) are dangerous.

I'm really not trying to be rude, and I am sorry that your day is so rough, but I wouldn't take something that a parent said about asthma/chemicals lightly.

I don't do that type of cleaning while the kids are here, but if you're using bleach and water to clean and you are smelling the bleach you're using too much bleach. You only need 1 T per 1 gallon of water to clean.
