    Only One Child

Weather conditions are still bad over here, no schools, no non essential workers are called to stay home today, they have been warning on how bad the roads are going to get with the freezing rain today the point is that this is a huge mess, they say some schools are not opening until mid week or so and people are opening the roads themselves because Snow plows can't get to them. Many DC centers are closed because they have not been able to clean the parking lots and there is no way to get in. Yesterday I told my DH when going out to get some groceries that I'd rather for my son to stay with his sister here at home, because I don't want him to be in a car on the roads, I want him safe. All my families are out, expect guess who? The family that always argues if I want a day off, the family that even when they are off they NEVER want to keep their child with them, I have had that child for over 2 yrs now and she went on a Vac just one time for about 4 days, never, never again they have kept her home, even when they are off, they rather "spend time together" like they told me once, than keep him, well that is the family I have here today, that child. And guess what? Mom is not working, she can work from home but her company does not open until noon, and I have my other family with more than one child who keep their kids at home even when working from home. I know I am open and offering my services, but it really disgusts me how some parents just don't want to be with their kids.

I too find it very sad how many parents don't want to be home with their kids. Come on...use birth control if you didn't want to be a mom. I loved to be with my kids and took them everywhere with me. Was it convenient all the time? No, but I wanted to be with them regardless. If it was super hard (like groceries) I went late at night and left the kids with dad. Some of my day care parents cherish every moment off or early day with their kids and rush to pick them up and others...ya...not so much. Sad.

Same here...kids here in bad weather!!!!

I feel exactly what you are saying.... I have 3 kids today. 1....mom is working but dad is home. 2...mom went to work but has option to work from home. 3...ready for this one????? "We are going to drop off little Sally today because she is bored at home". REALLY!!!????? I just don't understand parents of today. They NEVER want to spend time with their kids!!!!

I've been on the other side Andy worked full time while my kids went to daycare. I would give anything to go back to the days when my kids were little!!!! So so sad.....

I just feel sad for some kids, I know they love their child, I am no one to question that, but if you love your child maybe less spending on him and more time with him/her would help them feel that love. My child is always with me, always and when I let him go and stay a weekend at grandma's for me is terrible, I feel I am the one that should take care of him and the one that knows what he needs.
I used to work outside but when I had my son I decided I would stay home to be with him, it made no sense to me to pay almost 1/2 my salary so another person could watch him grow. Now, this child is here from 15 minutes pass opening time to 5 minutes before closing time, this parents are very strict with bed time ( probably because of same thing) so if the child leaves my care @ 5:50 and goes to sleep by or before 9:00, what time are they spending with him? I understand this is a diff world now, making money and being a professional is very important, but there is nothing more important than taking care of our own kids.
