    FP what do you think

I have never had this before so I guess I would need to call and ask but what do you think.

I interviewed a family today 14 month Mom is still BF and during the day she get BM from a cup. MOM has another 4 or 5 months stockpiled in her freezer. There is no medical reason just they have it and it is better than cows milk.

Do you think the FP would still pay ? or would you just say nothing and write down milk.

I guess I should find out even if I do not sign the family.

We've had this issue, and I had the parents fill out all of the "milk substitution" paper work and where you would write in almond/soy/coconut milk - I filled in breast milk.

I think it is a valid choice for the parent to make, and therefore the FP should still count it.

If I enrolled baby in daycare, I would be doing the same thing.

Just fill out the paperwork for substitute milk. No biggie. Good for Mom!!!

Breastfeeding is encouraged by the World Health Organization to the age of 2. They've also shown how much brains continue to grow until the age of 5 ... it's absolutely incredible! So, getting breastmilk for an extended period of time past infancy is medically necessary in my opinon.

I think it's awesome. All of my kids got expressed BM until age 18m-2. (when they stopped night nursing my supply dried up) and then I gave toddler formula until age 3 at meals.

I would do the milk subsitution paperwork, I can't imagine the food program having a hard time with this.
