state registered for 12 kids.
Can have 4 under 2 years old and only 2 of those can be under 1 yr old.
Currently only have 6 full time kids and am very happy with those numbers since I run my daycare similar to a preschool. I'm also licensed for foster care so I try to leave spots open in my daycare for foster children. (licensed to care for up to 4 foster children.)- Flag

Just got Licensed last week! I was only registered at first...biggest difference is the number of kids I can care for at once...with or with a helper.
Since I have four of my own...I will always be limited...but with the older three in school I can fill spaces from 7am-4pm...so going Licensed will pay off once I can get families only needing care between 7am-4pm sharp!. Teacher kids would be great so when school is out I'm not over...wish me luck.- Flag

I am legally unlicensed -
I can have 4 children. Should I choose to be licensed due to my 4 children, 3 that would count towards daycare when they are here I can still only have 4 (total 7). So at this time the licensing agent said that it would be in my best interest to not be licensed (crazy I know).
I have had no problems getting clients. I would like to think because I have had wonderful tips from this site and I have created all of the necessary documents to protect myself and my clients. My daycare area is clean, trendy, and well stocked with everything needed. The fact that I treat my daycare as a business, starting out on the right foot, I think will keep me busy and full.HomeMADE- Flag
