It isn't an issue for me because I have been fortunate with numbers as well as having a spouse with a stable and good income but what I know from other caregivers it is a challenge to rely on income that isn't necessarily consistent. You could have full enrollment one day and fall and break a leg and go down to no income very suddenly. Planning for that would give you some security.

For me personally after 21 years it is the lack of feeling of fulfillment. I have toilet trained, school readied so many kids (including my own) that I can do this part of life in my sleep. I am hungry for a challenge that involves thinking, writing, interacting with adults who have different points of view on a vast selection of subjects. My current conversations still seem to be child based even though my youngest is nearly 16 and my oldest is 21. I feel like I haven't evolved as much as I would like to.

I relate to that last one too. I homeschooled my kids through second grade and have been with preschoolers for five years now. After a while the challenge is gone...I too long for more in that way. I tend to volunteer for different organizations and that helps a lot. Sure, I'm busier but it's a good sort of busier!

I'm like Blackcat... the backbone is the easy part for me - I have no isues enforcing my policies, but I do have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when it comes to poor parenting, etc.

I also have a difficult time accepting how so many adults (parents) think that rules do not apply to them, or have such extremely unprofessional/rude attitudes towards the people who care for their children so many hours of the week.

Winter is the hardest part for me. I always have a harder time when it's cold!

Feeling like I'm never good enough. With my educational background, I know all sorts of things that are best for promoting the kiddos development, and although the parents think I'm great and have a 4 star program, it feels like I never have enough time or energy to do all that I'm 'supposed' to do. I always feel like I can't keep up, especially with paperwork/recordkeeping. If I had less of that, I could have even more focus on planning/prepping activities for the kiddos.
