Just go through the licensing standards and make sure everything is in compliance.
There's a new requirement this year that all daycare facilities, including homes, get a radon test every three years. It's my understanding that homes can use one of test kits sold in stores, but centers have to have a professional radon company do the test.
Good luck!- Flag

Check out the "Providers in Training" group forum
Some one asked this question in providers in training this is what I put:
For the most part they will make sure that you have all of the safety requirements met: outlet plugs, locked cabnets (look into refridgerator locks too if possible), closed off staircases/hazard areas, working smoke/carbon detectors, door knob protecters, slip proof rugs, no standing water, enough sleeping/play space, all cribs/cots/mats are at least 3 feet apart, cleaners/poisons/medications out of reach, and all furnature/wall decor/ shelves are safely secure--- espesually flat screen TVs!
Basically "babyproof". Look up your state home requirements on the site or if your state has a Title 22 look under the "family child care" section.
Some helpful sites:
