I had a lady tell me that her 15 month old never goes in the stroller. She says she holds her hand everywhere they go. There is no way i would trust a 15month old walking in a mall or zoo. I don't even think 3 year olds should walk in the mall. I would be just to scared someone is going to knock them over or something. So when did you stop using strollers

we do babywear and spend a lot of time teaching our kids how to behave in public. i would never put a 3 year old in a stroller. its very rare that i put a 2 year old in a stroller....maybe at an all day trip to the zoo- Flag

For trips around the neighborhood and to the park, between 15-18 months. The ones I have had are fairly good sized kiddos and I have trouble pushing them. It takes a little bit, but watching the others really helps. If we were on long, all day walking trips then probably not.- Flag

That said I use the stroller at my discretion since I am responsible for the safety of the children in my care. I would (and have) put 3 yo's who were not listenting/following directions in the stroller for safety.- Flag

For my own kids I hated strollers, barely used them unless it was the mall (rare) or all day trips to a zoo or something. I actually decided to borrow one after I gave mine away for my 3 year old at Disney. I just knew it was going to be way too much walking for him.
For daycare I have a bye bye buggy stroller that has 6 seats! I love it, all the kids get in, even the 3 year olds. They think it's fun and I can get to the parks much faster. Plus it has a huge space for waters, suncreen, Kleenex, etc...Plus I get quite a workout pushing the thing!! You should see the looks on people's faces when I walk byGood way to advertise as well!

I don't baby wear though.
When we take trips to the park or around the neighborhood, I use a walking rope, a buddy system and have one adult in the front and one in the back.
If you can walk, you walk.- Flag

Usually around 3. I like having the stroller because it gives my arms a workout, legs a workout, something for the kiddo's to hold onto, and the littlest one doesn't slow us down walking. Each day is a fresh start
Never look back on regrets
Live life to the fullest
We only get one shot at this!!

for clarification, i only wear my own small children that cannot keep up well with the group. this would be under one year, usually under 6 months. i rarely babywear with the daycare kids. i will bring a stroller for them if I have to but i strongly prefer everyone to walk if possible. helps wear them out!!- Flag

it all depends on the child. At that age, I perfer stroller or wagon, many are still wobbly and I don't need them falling down or hitting their heads.- Flag

Usually between 18 & 24 months. I currently have a 16 month old who CAN walk the 4 blocks to the school & back but it takes a LOOOOOONG time. He's steady on his feet, even in snow gear, but he stops everytime a car goes by, a squirrel runs up a tree, a worm on the ground, a dryer vent blowing out warm air, etc.
If I wanna get there, get my school agers & get back I'll pop him in the stroller or bring the wagon.
Every other time he walks.- Flag
