Part-Time Mum Gave Me A Heart Attack Last Night

She showed up at closing as the last child was leaving looking for her son. It took me a deep breath to remember it wasn't his day. For a split second I went "OMG where is he" in my head.

Wow! That would freak me out too....where was he?

Maybe she ahs a little too much on her plate right now if she doesn't know where her son is? LOL! ::

Of course, I have driven many places while on auto pilot and thinking about something else so I suppose it can definitely happen....

I'm guilty of doing that once. I went to pick up my daughter form her home daycare and knocked on the door, no answer, went around to the back play area, no one was there. I started freaking out! I went home and there she was with her father. WHEW! I had forgotten that he had that day off. I was in school and working at the time and had just plain forgot our schedule! OOOPS!

I had this exact thing happen last week! :: In my case DCD has a irregular schedule, days off change week to week. He is the one that drops off and DCM picks up but last week she forgot it was his day off and showed up.

I panicked for a second too! DCM was embarrassed but we had a good laugh over it, especially because she's always paranoid about accidentally forgetting DCK because she thinks DCD has the day off.

He is here M-W-F and with grandparents on T-T

I have another child here on his off days so they share one full-time spot.

In the end I think the mum was anticipating it being Friday a day early

I have a dc mom who has droppred off and say she has to go quick as she is running late, she got almost to work and realized she forgot to drop her daughter off here and had to turn back around. She's done that twice, I said wow she must be very quiet in the car. But she does get a little scatter brained when she's overwhelmed. Oh and she doesn't live OR work that close to me.

see that is scary because every year you read about some child dying when parent forgot to drop them off at care and they got heat exhaustion in the car.
