I have a mom that every single day when she picks up has to have her son "perform" for me. Drives me nuts. It's after 5:00 lady, I've had your little darling for 9 hours. I've seen him perform. I don't need to know at this time of day when he's my last one here that he can say this word or that word. I'm with him more than you are in a day, I've seen it all. Hate to be so mean, but by 5:15 I'm tired and want to end my job just like she's wanted to end hers at 4:30.
I Just Don’t' Care

I prefer the direct approach because I am lazy....:: passive aggressivness and other detours to the truth are just too exhausting sometimes.

I have a DCM just like that. She stays for at least 40 minutes every day at pick up. Sometimes over an hour!!!!! I provide a daily sheet with all diaper, feeding n nap times along with details of their moods n activities to cut down on the chit chat. This DCM slowly reads the sheet at pick up n comments n questions every line. And everything reminds her of a story.
Today when this DCM came to pick up her toddler she talked for 40 minutes while the newborn I watch was fussing for a feeding. Everytime I tried to walk away to get a bottle together she had another question. I wanted to scream "go home!!!!!!" But instead answered with a pleasant smile. Ugh!- Flag

Parents who can't control their kids are frustrating, and parents that can't shut their mouths are as well.
I'd work up the nerve to say what blackcat said.- Flag

I'm going to have to say something to her, because she is driving me nuts. This is the same one that would just walk right iinto the house without knocking or anything and most times scaring the crap out of me. That was when my door was sometimes unlocked if I forgot. I typically lock the door. I prefer that they knock first. She has whipped the door open so fast a couple of times and there has been a child on the other side and she about took them out. She's just a dingbat.
I would shoot myself if she was here 40 minutes. Instead of writing up the sheet, maybe you could email it to her so she can't stand there and read it. Or when the baby is fussy, hand her the baby and ask her to help since she's just standing around. Giving her a crying baby once should cure that LOL!- Flag

Haha! I like that idea but it would never work with her. She asks her child to leave n when her child runs the other way she just keeps talking. Meanwhile I am running after her child! I know, its my fault bc i have allowed it. Need to grow a back bone!- Flag

Start telling her everyday that you have already seen the trick since he has been with you all day.
OR as soon as she walks in start showing her tricks that he learned with you and you were the first to see! LOL- Flag

I would look her straight in the face, and say.
Sarah, I know you like him to show me things. But I don't get a moment to myself, all day, every day and come pickup time I need to have some bathroom time. Have a great night, goodbye.- Flag
