forgot to mention that I bag the poops, and double bag them if they are really bad. I also wash out my pale with a good strong lavender lysol solution and try to air out in the sun when possible.

No advice on this thread will help my naproom which is currently suffering the after effects of diarrhea in the pants while the child was still asleep so it.......spread out everywhere......
The child woke up screaming and messy. Ugh.
All cleaned up now but the scars of the cleanup and smell will linger.... ::

I jokingly tell the kids "no pooping at daycare" and it works most of the time. LOL. Mine are all in their 2's and leave by 3:30 pm. It's rare that they do a #2 here. I think they are all just on the same schedule. When they do I tell their parents that they broke the pooping rule and we laugh.- Flag

I get the dirty diapers out of the house asap! I change everyone at the same time and put them all in a plastic grocery bag, tie it tight, then toss them in the garage. I don't allow the poop to stay in the house long enough to create an odor. On Thursdays (my last day of care each week) I open up the windows after the last child leaves in the nap/changing room. I lysol or febreeze everything and close the door to let it air out for a few hours. I use febreeze on the carpets after vacuuming each morning. I've never had a problem and actually get compliments from parents on how clean and fresh it smells.- Flag

I use gloves for poopy diapers & do the same as MarinaVanessa. I also throw a dryer sheet in the diaper pail when I put a new bag in (every day). If it's a particularly smelly one I put it in a plastic grocery bag & tie it before it goes in the diaper pail. I clean the diaper pail every night, first with odoban then with bleach. I leave the lid open overnight to air it out after cleaning it.- Flag

We have NINE in diapers! But we bag all diapers and they go in the trash out back immediately.
I use a spray in the immediate diaper area as soon as we are done changing a diaper. I have wax warmers upstairs and downstairs too. Parents always tell me the house smells wonderful and inviting (I like the country/cinnamon/apple pie type scents),,,so it's working!- Flag

"You can make your own spray air-freshener in just a few minutes using three simple ingredients. It’s a natural way to remove household odors, and the spray works well in the bathroom, on most fabrics and carpets, even in shoes. You can also customize it to suit your tastes.
1 oz gin, vodka, or rubbing alcohol
6 oz filtered water
20 – 40 drops of essential oil, a few suggested oils are: peppermint, jasmine, citrus oils"

I am pregnant, but even when I'm not I don't take shots of vodka. :: I altered the above recipe a little bit and just put it in a spray bottle.
It seriously gets out all bad smells. I much prefer it over chemically smells.

My parents always say it smells good in my house even when all I smell is poop too! Lol But Scentsy is my home! I have warmers in my living room, kitchen, bathroom, & 2 bedrooms. I love how safe they are! My son picked one up (after daycare that day) when he was 14 months old & it didn't even phase him! Slight mess on the carpet, but came up no problem!- Flag
