    Wow! Serious Allegations!

Sexual encounters between 4- and 5-year-olds were allegedly an "everyday thing" at a California preschool that is closing its doors after coming under scrutiny for a lack of supervision, the mother of a 5-year-old former student said.

This is just a few city over from me...
I don't even know what to say!
I don't think that 4 and 5 year olds would have any sexual urges to do this..
Who was suppose to be watching these kids?

The article said that the aides were sleeping? hmmmm

        This is unbelievable.

I don't want to hijack this thread at all but I just termed a family and the little boy who is 4 would not stop playing with himself vigorously at quiet time. I mean it was obvious as to what he was doing. Seriously I had to ask him to stop every 2 minutes. I have never seen sexual expressions from a kid that young ever in my 19 years of working with kids.

Don't you guys think this could be caused from abuse?

I just wanted to edit to say I didn't term for the little boy playing with himself during quiet time, there were other issues that we amicably parted ways about. When I reread my comment I realized it might have sounded like I termed for that. Though I have to admit I'm happy I didn't have to address that.

Wow! And I definitely think this had to start somewhere. I believe one of the children saw this somewhere outside of preschool and brought the idea to preschool, where he perpetuated a "fad."

            yes, I totally agree!
Kids this age are usually curious about themselves, but what they say the kids were doing is learned behavior.

I just sat here with my mouth wide open for 5 minutes. I am SHOCKED. This is unbelievable. I feel so bad for the kids and parents that were affected by this ridiculously unprofessional and harmful lack of supervision. Disgusting.

I'm not saying this is a false accusation(s) but we should all remember that it is a possibility. Remember the witch hunt that happened in California during the 1980's? All it takes is one child and a few parents/police etc. that don't understand child development for big mistakes to happen.

I'm not surprised at all. Saddened and disgusted to high heaven, but I think crap like this is far more common than a lot of people assume. It's just easily covered up because young children typically don't have the vocabulary to get help and make it stop.

Look at the whole Catholic priest cover-up garbage. Thousands of kids hurt for DECADES and who knew all that was going on all that time?? No one. Started with only a handful speaking out but not until adulthood and that finally blew the lid off. Most of those kids were older when their abuse occurred. They could speak up at the time and didn't/couldn't, but we expect toddlers and preschoolers to know how to? It's nothing short of a miracle that this was uncovered so the parents could get their kids out of there.

Wow! difficult one, but like someone else said it could be false, I would rather believe this because is just so hard for me to believe that these kids were doing this kinda things. I know for sure that if I leave my kids alone so I can use the restroom when I come back I won't find a picture like this one, why do I say this? Because in the case of this being true they also have to go to each family and question them, because there is deff abuse in this case, kids don't learn this by themselves, one thing is touching themselves because of curiosity but oral sex? That is learned and where did they learn it from? Form the teachers? Mom? Dad? Uncle? Grandpa? Who was abusing this kids?

This is a link for the McMartin case..
This case was dropped I think .... I was young when it happened too, I just remember that the kids were not telling the truth

But as far as the Carson Preschool incident... those bathroom doors look pretty heavy for little kids to open a close so it makes me wonder if teachers let them in there and left them or what happened?

OMG! That's all I can say is OMG!
I just cannot believe it is true. I have been a Provider for over 20 years....30+ children total and have NEVER seen any child naturally exhibit any behavior even close to that!!!! The child who first initiated this behavior had to be abused to even know what it was....and then the other children were copying the behavior. That is the only conclusion I can come to with such young children. They aren't even old enough to realize what they are doing is wrong!!! And where in the heck is the supervision??????
