    What Do You Consider Fever Free...

    What do you consider fever free? Totally normal temperature or one that is under 100*

    How about after a child has been sick, and you have a fever free for 24 hour policy... does this to you mean they can return when they hit under 100* for 24 hours or do they need to be more normal around 98.6?

    As long as they aren't miserable, and are 100 or under, I'm fine. I usually try to be flexible when I can.

      normal temp for that child. If it is 99 it will likely go right back up later in the day. They are still sick
      It:: will wait

        If they are trying to come back from being sick, then they would have to have a normal temp. otherwise they are not over their sickness.

        Other times, like this AM I have a child here with 99.3, but is fine otherwise, so I am not calling mom to pick up.

          This. I have 2 kids here with cold symptoms that are manageable and 'fevers' under 100. Kids are able to participate and acting normally.

            I go back and forth on these issues but if its a low fever after a higher fever they are still sick. I am getting better at enforcing this because some kids need so much more even with a low fever and I can't provide that type of care.
