What Is The Youngest Age You Have Seen A Child Give Up Naps?

Been doing this for 21 years and have NEVER had a 20 mo that does not nap. I put her in the pac-n-play and she stands up, shakes it, bangs the wall, screams, and does just about everyhting else you can think of but never goes to sleep. She is not grumpy when she gets up either.

She does not get a nap at home and I am sure her mother does not realize she is having a "rest" at my house but all of the kids get a rest here, I need a break, I am only human.

I just CAN NOT not give a kid this age a nap. I cannot stand to have her for 9-10 hours a day without a break from her. I use nap time to get things done. I am just so frustrated with her wrecking naptime everyday, keeping others awake. I can't put her in a seperate room unless I move her upstairs into one of our bedrooms and I don't want to start doing 2 floors, not even sure it's legal.

Right now we have an 11 month old who is perfectly happy with 15 min of sleep all day. She wont even get fussy after sleeping that little. However we have worked on it, and am getting her to sleep longer and on a schedule - however naturally, she would be okay with 10-15 min of sleep while at daycare.

My ds stopped around 15 months. I had him laying down for rest everyday tho. He just wasn't a sleeper-until now. You know, when they hit that preteen/teen stage and have to get up early to catch the bus. Now he wants to sleep.

We used to have company that stayed once a month and they would sleep in the living room. They had drill and usually had to be out of the house a little after 7am. Ds would be the one to wake them up, not their alarm, and he always asked if they wanted to play cars. We teased him that one day we would be coming in his room at 5am, jump up and down on his bed and ask him to play cars::.

Will she lay quiet with a book or small toy?

it really doesnt matter if SHE needs a nap....you can only work with kids that nap or rest quietly. if she cannot do that, then your program does not work with her.

I would check to see if you can put her on a different floor and try and wait out the nap strike

        if not, i would term.
