How Much Cleaning Do You Do?

A post on another thread started me thinking on how much cleaning, laundry do we do a day week?

I think it much more then we realize!

Laundry:2-3 loads a day, hang to dry, fold in the mornings (14-21 load a week)

Dishes: No dishwasher so I can either wait and do all at once or throughout the day and be putting away all day

Cleaning: About 1.5 hours before the bulk of our day get going (maybe a little more or a little less)
    Another 1.5 hours during nap
Another 1-2 hours in the evening
Then it still doesn't seem to stay clean!!!!

I just think how clean it would stay if I wasn't home all day long-

ALOT! But I still feel like more needs to be done. So instead of cleaning an additional 8 hours (thats what it feels like) a day ill go watch an episode of hoarders and I feel much better about my house

      Me too!!!!

My husband always says we are one box away from being on that show! I most of the things in the tubs I own are for childcare and I'm gladly willing to get rid of it all and not do it.

      He gets instantly quiet-

I feel so lucky. I do daycare diaper laundry 2 times a week, "other" daycare laundry 1ce a week. I spend about 1 hour each evening sweeping, mopping, bathroom clean-up, etc... I clean the counters & table before meal preps & meals, all toys are sanitized 1ce a week. My husband vacuums every night, does our laundry on weekends and empties the dishwasher every night- he says I have to clean-up after the littles all day so he can take over when he gets home. My daughter does her own laundry (she is 18) and doesn't mind doing something that she sees needs to be done when she isn't working or in class. Yep...I am lucky

          Interesting question!

Toys-all toys once a week (Sundays)+ mouthed toys daily

          Dishes-run the dishwasher 6 times a week (M-F & Sundays)

          Laundry-5 loads a week. (2 dc, 3 mine)

          Vacuum-all dc rooms nightly (6 times a week, M-F & Sunday) + my bedroom once a week

          Sweep & mop-6 times a week (M-F & Sundays)

          Kids bathroom & diaper pail-6 times a week (M-F & Sundays)

          My bathroom-Sundays

You do a ton of cleaning, OP!

I have 10 children here, 1 dog that stays put awy, 1 teenager of my own, and a pregnant, tired me.

Laundry - About 10 loads each week (including the nonpaper paper towels, cloth diapers, cloth baby wipes, and rags). Sometimes it's less if my son misses the day he is supposed to bring his down or if there aren't many rags and such to wash.

Vacuum - Nightly. My son has been doing this.

Mop - Nightly to every other night in the DC rooms. About once a week or so in the other areas of our home (upstairs/master bedroom/master bath). My son has been mopping DC rooms.

Toys - Quickly done on a daily basis, spot cleaned as needed, and deep cleaned weekly.

Dishwasher - Run 1 load each weekday and 1 load on the weekend. When my STBX-husband lived here it was 2 loads each day!

I LOVE a clutter free home so I'm constantly picking up here and there. Constantly. Certain areas have gotten a little ugly lately due to how tired I am. Like, the bill paying area. There are little paper stacks on it and that drives me crazy but I haven't fixed it yet. Maybe I should do that now.

I clean alot, some days its just too much that I just don't get a break. I just don't do toys. Right now I'm still renovating so the toys need to be wiped down, but I don't want to do it till everything is set.

don't you ever wonder how people who work outside the house keep their house clean. Because there is no way I would be able to do that. laundry in my house has to be done twice a week, throw in a camp or two and thats more stuff.

I used to work 50+hrs outside of the home. I cleaned once a week, we weren't home a lot to make a mess!!

I clean in the mornings for about an hour before I open. I clean about 2 hrs during the day, and about 2 at closing time. I also deep clean on weekends, like my tubs and walls. ( not all walls)

I do at least one load of dishes a day, nothing is hand washed bc of the virus going around....

I do at least 2 loads of laundry a day...

do you guys feel that by cleaning so much its becoming ocd. I'm mean that I can't even go to bed unless there are no dishes in the sink, everything is put away and vacummed. I feel that all day I clean.

Yes! I hate dishes in the sink! ! Usually, my weekends are a little more relaxing with the cleaning. I cannot wait to move! ,

I think cleanliness is a great thing. I don't like dishes in the sink either.

On Sundays, though, we rest. We go to Church and just rest. No cleaning, no work, just don't do anything.

My mother thinks I am really hard on things because I have been through 2 dishwashers in 10 years. I tried to explain that it gets used at least twice a day so the lifespan is exhausted faster.

My 10 year old washer is also sounding like it is on its way out.

This is exactly how I feel!!

2 loads of dishes a day

At least 1 load of laundry (we don't use paper towels) if I'm doing my sons cloth diapers then 2-3 loads

                              Vacuum/sweep every night

Mop as needed but weekly regardless

                              Sanitize weekly - everything - nightly mouthed toys - s*****e surfaces all.the.time

Bathrooms - wipe down daily - scrub weekly

And on and on - its about 2 hours / day M-F of just child care cleaning
