    Changing Business Hours

I need to change my hours from 6:30-5:30 to 7:30-5:00 it is not working for my family. I have one family I know that will leave because of that and i'm at the point where I don't care I just need to do what is right for my own family. I need help wording a letter. How does this sound?

    Dear Parents
Due to my families needs I will be changing my hours of operation to Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM-5:00 PM and Friday 7:30AM-4:30 PM. These changes will take effect Monday Febuary 18, 2013.

    Thank You

If you don't mind me correcting

    Dear Parents:
Effective Monday, February 18th, 2013 I will be changing my hours of operation.

The new hours are Monday-Thursday from 07h30-17h00 and Fridays from 07h30-16h30

I understand the need to change your hours for your family's convenience but on Fridays you are giving the average person who might work 8-4 only half an hour each way to get to and from work.

If your contract states a different set of hours I would be pretty disappointed with the relatively short notice and might change caregivers.

It will not cause the parents any work issues because all my parents are teachers and are out of work by 4:00 everyday.

I changed my hours last summer. I gave a 2 month notice. It affected several families and all of them made the necessary accommodations.

One family left but that was the main reason I was changing my hours.

It affected my sibling group so now dcd picks up 2 days per week and cut his lunch down to 30 min from 1 hour to accommodate the pick ups on those days. DCM now comes 2 days a week to pick up as well.

The only significant change was for families that work overtime. I have offered to open 30 minutes early if they can provide a weeks notice to cover all overtime but it must be done on the front end of the day and no longer on the tail end of the day.
