    Issue Brought Up But

An issue with another child was brought up but the parent's did not name that child. A child said, "I should not be alive" while in the block center with this child (of the parents who contacted me) and their child repeated that at home today despite the child saying it was said on Friday at school. They made sure that I knew they never say it at home and let me know the child asked them not to tell me. It ended with a "Just wanted to let you know. Have a good evening."

I'd like to know which child it was so I can inform their parents that they are believing/saying such things. The children range in age from 2.5-5 here. Is this a situation that I really can't do much in???

Are any of your kiddos IVF babies or children who had a really rough birth? One of the little girls I used to watch was attached OUTSIDE the womb. She developed ok and was born by C section, but her mother was fond of saying such things about how she was a "miracle baby" and she should not have survived.
It wasn't meant in spite, just awe. Perhaps the child is overhearing such talk at his/her house?

They ended up telling me who it was and I discussed it with the parent that dropped off today. The parent was surprised and said the child likely got it from a TV show.

I have no idea what shows a child that age would be watching to get a phrase like that.

I have no idea. The child talks about Jake the Pirate, Ice Age (that one with a pirate in it), and a dinosaur movie a lot.

There is a reality show on Animal Planet called I Shouldn't Be Alive. It's about people who have crazy survival stories.
