My dad actually had this done, like 12 years ago...he says he's glad he did it.
He doesn't use those bond creams or gels to hold the dentures in...he says it shrinks the gums. Are you gonna have dentures or implants?Comment

I had wonderful teeth until about 5 years ago. But my British blood caught up with me LOL! I was also diagnosed with diabetes 5 years ago...hhmmm.DEAR GOD!!! WHY ??? (Was my first thought) You will do fine Good luck!!

I was having so much trouble with them literally breaking when I brushed my teeth or bit into anything hard. They became brittle and I was having root canal after root canal. Doc said implants or dentures were my only hope.
Implants would have been wonderful, but the estimate was $22,000. Dentures $5000. Without dental insurance, I really only had one choice. So I have full upper and lowers.
So I am sore...but not as swollen as they said I might be due to ease of removal.
They had scheduled me for 2 hours of IV sedation. Doc said my teeth would be very easy to pull. IT TOOK THEM only 20 minutes to pull all of them and seat the dentures!!!!!!!!!!!
So I am now just trying be positive and get past the healing part. I love the new teeth. They look really pretty.
But now I am craving steak........sigh......not for a while!!!!!Comment
