    Hi, Im a new provider in Minnesota, can anyone tell me what the rule is on my children having friends over while Im doing care for others? Thanks

    It depends on the ages of your child and their friends. If you have a teenager that is subject to background checks, their friends will also need to have background checks to spend any length of time at your house. If your child is younger (say school aged) you need to stay within your license limit. Say you're licensed for 10 children (including your own children under the age of 12) as long as your child's friend(s) won't cause you to be over your capacity it should be ok. This is what my licensor told me upon my initial licensure.
    Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.

      I actually asked my licensor this from Hennepin County - Those kids would count in your ratio's and you also have to have paperwork on them.
