    Naming Your Business

How did you come up with a business name? Did you create a logo?

I have a friend that came up with our name and then my husband's cousin's husband (I guess he's my cousin now?) had just graduated with his degree in graphic design and he created our logo!

I don't have a logo, but my daycare name is Greta's Little Friends Daycare and my first name is Greta... I had a hard time coming up with something, but then I remembered my son's daycare name was Lets Be Friends Daycare, and it came to me.
Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.

I forgot to put that my avatar is part of our logo. If you go to our website you'll see the rest of it.

A childminder is what childcare providers are called in Britain and while I was waiting(not so patiently) for licensing to come through I researched and brainstormed for a name. My logo was something I drew (I'm an artist, used to teach). Pretty juvenile, I know, but it is basic, easy to understand, easily transferable and the kids love it.Click image for larger version

Mine is Sweet Pea Daycare. We called my son Sweet Pea as a baby and it was so cute, I just decided to use it for work as well. I designed my logo bc I do minor graphic design for fun.

Think of things you would want children to be or aspire to be(Creative Kids) , or names you would call them(Tiny Tots) or what you business represents!(Stay n' play,Kiddie Kollege, Kindercare)

designoutpost.com did most of our logos at a cost of about $200 each. You get 10 to 20 designers from around the world that give you graphic ideas from your description. You keep tweeking their different logos until you pick one. Take a look at the quality of our brands here (you have to go down the page):

I don't have a logo but I will talk Judy into making me one sometime in 2010. She hasn't complied yet but she will.

I just use the advertising signs that I had done for a print magazine and the one I made at vistaprint for my yard sign now.

i live on top of a mountain, so we became "mountaintop family daycare".

i did my own logo with clipart. it is a cartoon smiley face sun in between cartoon pine trees.
