    2.5 year old stutter

A few months ago, DCB (now 2.5) began stuttering. His mom asked of it was anything to be concerned about, I assured her (along with the help of our assistant who has her degree in speech pathology) that it was just his brain moving faster than his mouth. But that was maybe 6 months ago, and it is progressively getting worse. It still isn't all the time, I would say %50 of his sentences start off without stuttering, but it is definitely becoming more noticeable.

Does anyone have any experience with this ?

I don't have a lot of experience, but I also have an (almost) 2.5 year old here who has started stuttering recently. Although it can be a normal issue at this age, I've noticed hers increases with routine changes/stress. Is your dck having stress or change at home? (Divorce, remarriage, new sibling, etc.)

My 2.5 DCG stutters when she's excited, upset, rushed or nervous. I remind her to slooow down and take a minute to think and it seems to help.

No changes at home at all. Has a very stable home life. He has recently potty trained (3 weeks ago), but the stutter started before that.

My dcb is about that age and he stutters too. I remember my son doing it too and he would get so frustrated and finally say "I can't say it". They do outgrow it for the most part. I did have a nephew that needed some speech therapy when he was about 10/12, but now he talks just fine.
