I think that in a situation like the school shooting a state rep would have looked the other way. That would most definately been the last thing on my mind was licensing if kids showed up on my doorstep like that.

My daughter when she was almost 3 slammed her thumb in the door while I had 3 or 4 little ones. She "nearly severed" it as the doctor put it. I called my sister (no background check) and had her come over while I took my daughter to the hospital. I could not have cared less if they would have caught me. Those kids were fine.

I just want to be very clear - lest anyone think I am saying not to do it because of the possibility of a write up - that I would always do what's right even if it meant getting cited. And I probably would go to the news if I was, not so much because I think OCFS would change their minds, but so the locals would know "my side" and send their kids to me

I have no doubt that you or anyone else here would do the right thing if it came up. I think we all would take our "lumps" with licensing if we needed.
