Awkward!!!

Has anyone ever given a family 2 weeks notice and had the family not really take it seriously? I did it in person and in writing, but don't get the impression they really get it? Maybe I'm wrong but the whole thing is weird and I feel like I need to bring it back up to make sure they looking for a new provider. The term is over my hours changing.

I have never been in this situation, but I wouldn't say any more about it as you've given both verbal and written notice. If they show up the first day they are supposed to be gone, I'd just tell them "Per the term notice you got on xx date, your child is no longer enrolled in my daycare."

It could be that they understand whats going on but are acting like nothing happened to keep things from getting awkward the last few days.

Maybe you could casually ask if they have found other care yet?

I will today at pick-up, terming them was very hard, but we had an agreement that changed and I can no longer honor their hours, it is causing a lot of added stress to my family.
