    Teacher Interview

For one class I need to interview a teacher with these ten quesitons I came up with, and I wanted to get some of your answers here. Since there are many here who in a classroom enviroment would be very helpful to me to get your answers. Thank you

    1. Your class is a melting pot of different ability levels ranging from very gifted to severe special needs. How do you ensure that each student’s unique needs are met?
    2. Describe your use of auditory, visual, and hands-on teaching techniques.
    3. What does the term classroom community mean to you?
    4. How do you handle dissatisfied parents regarding their child’s progress?
    5. How do you help children develop relationships with each other?
    6. How would you ensure good standards and practice within the setting?
    7. How do you measure a child’s educational achievement in ways other than by testing?
    8. How do you acknowledge students who are following the rules?
    9. What does cognitive, physical, and emotional learning mean to you?
    10. In what ways do you teach intentionally?
"God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.'"

      Sorry Dave,
I think so many of us are home providers so the questions don't really apply to us.
Do you have any teachers that go to your church you could ask?
      They are really great questions!

I think they do apply to home providers too... if you are in charge of any group of children you are the teacher. Guess i had to try

I too believed you asked the question in a way that made me feel it didn't apply to home providers. But I'll bite
            1. I adapt every activity to meet the needs of the children in attendance.
            2. My teaching method is holistic, incorporating many stimuli to allow the child as rich and involved learning experience as I can find for them. We touch, taste, smell and invade our world, routinely.
            3. Our classroom community is more of a classroom family.
            4. I listen to their concerns and redirect them to the resources they are seeking to fix their worries.
5 we treat each other like family, relationships take time, trust & acceptance. Those things happen naturally here.
            6. I'm not sure I understand this question
            7 by observation
            8 praise
            9. Brain, body, heart
10 I intentionally teach health & safety rules. Washing hands, staying in fence, etc. these are non negotiable as to the way we do them. Everything else is instinctual. I provide a goal, several tools to achieve it, and leet them figure it out. I don't care if they have sparkling footballs and black ruffle dolls. We are process based learning, not product based.

By observing and recording observations I learn what each childs needs, strengths and interests are. I can then plan activities, supply materials and adapt the classroom or activity so everyone is challenged and included.
2.preschoolers mostly learn with hands on activites, by using books with pictures or pictures posted in the classroom visual learning is stimulated . I also join in the activity and they see me doing it .I asked open ended questions and join in ( but not lead) conversations as we are learning and exploring new concepts
3classroom community to me is all the children, the people we come in contact with regularly like the parents, and the environment ( the classroom and playground)
              4

              I will come back later
              It:: will wait

                1. By having low student to teacher ratios and treating each child as a unique individual with a distinct continuum of learning.
2.Tell them how to do a task,.show them how to do it, and aglow them to do it independently or with assistance.
                3. The children, the adults and the classroom environment.
                4. Arrange a conference, determine the issues, listen to suggestions, discuss and agree on a development plan, execute and follow up.
                5. Encourage acceptance of diversity, courtesy, and expression of feelings. Discourage exclusion and any type of bullying.
                6. Participate in a quality improvement program with local Early Learning professionals, or implement a plan based on ECCERS or FCCERS.
                7. Observation and parental input.
                8. Praise, repeating verbally what they did right "thank you for cleaning up your activity" and follow up.
                9. Mind, body and soul. (like laundry mom said)
                10. Lead by example, positive reinforcement and expansion on previously learned skills
                Hope that helps.
