Do you feel you're always "bumping" into this problem? I do...

In 4 years I never was able to have my 6 spots taken by only nice families /kids... Or I have all spots taken and have to endure some very stressful "bad apples"... or I have all nice families/kids but have also a couple of empty spots!! It seems I can never overcome this obstacle!! If this job was just a hobby for me I would have no problem with this... but being a very important source of income I end up enrolling some "new problems" every time someone calls for one of the spots (competition is big in my city)

You are never goinng to have all PERFECT families. It just isn't going to happen.

In this business, you take the good with the bad and don't sweat the rest.

Sometimes when you have a tough kid or a hard to work with parent and you term or they leave, you get a replacement that is worse, so fix what you can, stand your ground on important things and let the rest go.

Thank you . I'm glad to know it is not just me and that this is one of the things I need to accept instead of investing energy trying to control it

I agree with BC (as usual). I have some awesome kids (and not so awesome parents) and some great parents and kids with issues. I have a couple of great, what I call PERFECT fit kids/families as well. I just roll with it. I ALWAYS advertise, just in case too!

Right now I like all my families and kids, but two are temporary kids (foster situation) and I have one open spot. So, yes, I have the same problem. I think its normal. I just got rid of one problem child and one problem parent from two different families. I decided I would rather have 3 open spaces then all the stress. Luckily I filled two quickly.
