    Yay me!!!

I was trying to come up with other creative things to advertise for my daycare when my phone started to ring off the hook with interested parents. Turns out a local church had their license temporarily taken away for 'unknown' reason & parents were just told they couldn't bring the kids on Monday!!

I stayed late yesterday interviewing parents & am now full on my day shift. happyface Most said they know other parents who work shift work & would tell them about my place. (I'm open Mon-Fri: 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift)

I also thought about hiring a part time person, then I got calls from the staff from the SAME daycare, looking for work! happyface I AM SO BLESSED RIGHT NOW I can sing! (I'll go for a morning run instead, my singing ****s..., ask the kids.)

Congrats!!! I hate to play devils advocate here but be careful when and if the church has their license reinstated. If they do it pretty soon such as within the next few weeks you might see your "flood" of clients and/or staff start to trickle back over to the church. You just never know.

Here in CA we can call our licensing office and request to find out about a facility file ... if your area works like this I would definitely call to ask for more info. If they had is suspended then they have a chance to fix the issue and have it reinstated fairly soon, if it was revoked for more serious matters then you should be alright.

In the meantime enjoy your fabulous new surge of clients. I hope that they all fall in love with you and they stay with you for years!! happyfacehappyface

Thank you everyone! The parents that I signed with are not interested in returning to the church. They felt that they should have been better informed of what was going on, instead of being told not to come back with no notice. Some say they suspected something was up for awhile, but was told nothing when they questioned it. They all have to take off work to transfer their children over here & aren't happy about that part.

I currently only have 1st & 2nd shift kids right now. I have been interviewing for for employees, but do have one person who is trained now for my absence. I very selective in who works here & most look at it as a job they can take their kids & babysit other kids. (???) I tell them I do not babysit here, but they can check with the local community board for that.

I also have rehabbed the upstairs into a two bedroom apartment that I stay in during the week & go home on the weekend. My intent is to have it as a package deal for the right employee. It has to be the right fit or its a no go & I'll keep it for me when I'm in town.

Suggesting are welcomed everyone. You peeps have been really helpful in my learning process!!!
