    Just Wanna Cry.....

Got a nasty cough and don't feel well.......then on top of that, Wednesday I went to the dentist with raging toothache. They gave me a few choices. Two MORE root canals and crowns...or pull 'em all out and get dentures.

I am so tired of my mouth and my wallet being root canal-ed to death and I am tired of being in so much pain. (My diabetes makes it a battle with my teeth).

So I opted for the dentures. I went in yesterday to get molds taken. Having all that gunk in my mouth while wanting to cough up a lung.......great fun.

I go back January 25th and they are going to put me to sleep, yank my teeth out and give me a new smile. In the meantime, I am on antibiotics and hefty painkillers. They could pull the worst tooth, but it's near the front and I don't want to look like a hillbilly for the next couple weeks. So I am trying to work through the pain........

$4,997.......just when I was hoping to be able to take some time off and go back to England this fall. I haven't been home in 27 years. Now that's off the table and I've been crying like a baby...........dang this ****s.

    Sorry...just needed to gripe......

    Uh, hon sending lots of hugs- {{{{{lovethis}}}}}}}

It seems when we get the last medical bill off and then something happens and we are hit with them again.

I always dread going to the dentist! No matter how much I brush, floss, rinse, take excellent care of the teeth 9 times out of 10 they find something.

If you need to talk/cry/get it off your chest feel free to pm me-

I am so sorry. I have dentist phobia, for just the reasons you listed. I broke a tooth a few years ago. Went in to have it fixed...$2500 later and I am still in pain. I hate it!

Sorry to hear about your trip. I think I would be crying a lot, too. Hang in there, things always get better!

At least today will be a light day. It's my day "off". (I hang out upstairs taking care of whatever I want while hubby and son deal with daycare.) Also, we had a major storm come in last night and so half our daycare families called to say they were going to stay home/call in sick/go sledding with their kids etc! There's no school, so no school runs and so we are just staying in the warm and watching it snow. Should be an easy day. And me and Ambesol are becoming really good friends!

Oh my goodness Meeko!! I want to cry with you!

I HATE the dentist.....I have only had one root canal in my life (not too long ago) and will NEVER do that again! I am a major dental phobe. The word makes me sick to my stomache immediately....

I cannot even begin to imagine the pain you are in and when you have a toothache, EVERYTHING else just plain old ****s!

I would maybe forego the Ambesol and take a couple ibuprofens and have a few really stiff drinks.....and I don't even drink...but I don't think I could survive what you are going through without doing so.

I tried begging for dentures a few years back but since my teeth are all honestly in really good condition, they said no. I was just hoping dentures would eliminate ANY future contact with the dentist.

I have actually been denied services at most the dentist in my town because I make appts and then sit in the car in their parking lots having anxiety and ultimately not going in so they get tired of me no-showing them and won't let me come back at all......

I will be sending you TONS of feel better FAST vibes and I will be praying and hoping things work out fo ryou so that you can go home....not being home for 27 years....that just breaks my heart!

Thanks everyone. I just need to hang in there until the 25th.

The doc gave me percocet (not sure of the spelling), but I'm afraid to take it in case I get groggy. I did take it last night before bed.

I've been popping Tylenol and ibuprofen and "painting" around the tooth with an Ambesol brush to numb it as much as possible. Warm compresses also help.

I am terrified of the dentist (I get tearful like a child), but now I just want this over with. At least my hubby insisted I get the IV sedation, so I won't feel them pull all my teeth out. I'll wake up with the new ones in.

Then every time I smile in the mirror, I'll be reminded I'm not going home......
