    Paying Your Employess

Do you calculate payroll and write checks yourself or do you have an accountant?

If you do it yourself, how?

It seems like it should be easy, but I'm having a hard time understanding!

I use Bookkeeper software. It's not too expensive. You have to update the tax tables each year and get checks that you can run through the printer. I like using it (been doing so for 4 years) because it is cheaper than an accountant, but once I put in the employees info, it calculates all the taxes, etc. for me and prints out appropriate paychecks and paystubs. It also gives you your quarterly summaries etc. you can print so you have hard copies and can have totals to know to pay federal and state employer taxes. You can do a ton of other things on there too regarding your business finances, but I only use it for payroll.

I use Intuit payroll it's soooo easy! For a while I tried to figure out on my own but that just was stressful! If you have Costco executive membership they give you like 3 months free trial and a discount, they have the flyers for it at Costco. It tells you everything you need to do and calculates all of the taxes. It's awesome.
