Moving.... How & When to Tell Parents

We will be moving the daycare into the rental house that I have previously posted about before the 1st of February. No exact date yet, there are some minor repairs being worked on - and mostly it depends on our schedule. The hard part is going to be getting the majority of the move done in one weekend... I will begin moving some unessential things soon - but the majority of our things will be moved over the course of a weekend:roll eyes:

Our new place is on the same street as our current neighborhood - just 4 minutes farther on the roads and 2 minutes farther on the expressway. We don't feel that a 4/2 minute addition will cause us to lose clients - but sometimes people are unpredictable.

I would like to know how much notice do you think is acceptable for such a minor move... 2 weeks ? That way if the extra few minutes is to much, they can look for somewhere else ?!? Do we write a letter/flyer to announce it ?

We were planning on having an open house at the end of the weekend we move (that should be the icing on the cake, right ?) - so that parents/children can see everything before Monday. (We did this when we moved to our current home, 5 years ago - once again a 1.5 mile move).

Any suggestions/hints.... WE ARE READY TO GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD !! Anyone feel like coming to OK to help us move ? ::

I personally would give 2-4 weeks notice at least, so I think you would be safe letting them know now.
