One of my twin grandsons talked incessantly about "Grandfather" ...meaning his great grandpa who had passed away about 9 or 10 years before he was born! All the grandchildren referred to him as Grandfather but I don't know if my grandson's dad had ever said that in front of him or not...he was my husband's father and at one time we had had a picture of him on the wall but when we did some renovations, it was taken down and I hadn't put it back up for whatever reason.

Anyway, Ty was always mentioning him and saying the Grandfather lived in the dirty water (??) ...we don't live near water nor does our son and family so I was never sure where he meant...

One day after he talked about him a lot, I got the picture down and showed it to him but didn't say who it was...he looked at it for a minute and I asked if he knew who it was..he said "yes...it's Grandfather"..I was kind of freaked out...LOL! He had no way to know that so I wonder if Grandfather was around here a lot (he lived in an apartment at the back of our house until he passed away).

Years ago some of the kids used to talk about "Frank" all the time and that he was visiting...there was no one named Frank who ever visited here and they couldn't tell me what he looked like ...so I assumed that my paternal grandpa, who's name was Frank must be coming to see how I was...LOL! He passed away when I was about 8 . To my knowledge no one named Frank had ever lived here either so it's a puzzle..

My father-in-law used to rent the front part of the house out before my husband moved in here and one time when we were out shopping he ran into a former tenant ...he greeted my husband with the question, "So have you seen your Grandmother lately?" My husband was taken aback because his grandmother had been dead for more than 20 years by then! The man then explained that they used to see her ghost walk through the house periodically....my husband's grandparents had bought this house in 1954 and lived here for 3 years before the grandfather passed away...the grandmother stayed her until her death and she loved this house a lot so maybe she was just checking things out with the tenants being here...LOL!

Back to OP. Are they too young to talk yet? Did you ask them who was joining the group?

We had a ghost thread a couple months ago: https://www.daycare.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48590

oh good grief, i have chills now!!! And I'm alone, except for my son asleep upstairs!! Drat you all!!

Anyway, I fully believe in ghosts/spirits/whatever you want to call them. Do they look behind you like that when you're NOT getting on someone? COuld you get another adult in to see anything, or take a photo or something?

I have never liked the basement in my mom's condo. Now, it's only 27 years old so not anything *too* old and crazy. One night when I was a teenager I was laying on the couch watching TV like I did a lot, and I know I was watching a Discovery Channel thing about the Bermuda Triangle. My mom was upstairs in her room. All of a sudden I KNEW that someone was behind me but of course no one else should have been!! So I leapt up off the couch and whirled around and a dark shadowy figure disappeared. I screamed--screeched really--and raced upstairs as fast as I could. I don't think I went back down there for days. That basement still freaks me out.

I went for a massage once when my DD was 5 months old and when we walked into the old house where the massage place was my daughter looked up at a corner and started to scream a terrified scream that I'd never heard before and never have since, and her attention was riveted on this one corner. We took her out and she calmed down, went back in, same thing. Talked to my sister who was renting/running the place and she said, 'oh, she must have seen our poltergeist!" (I didn't know before that day that the building was haunted).

I frequently, frequently see orbs in pictures we take. There were TONS when we first moved into this house but they've diminished, and there were tons in several of the apartments we lived in before this house. When we first moved in here my DD would talk about seeing a "snowman" walking around, and there was a cat that lived in the bathroom, and I once heard dog tags jingling (the old owners were here for 40 years and had dogs, we don't have any). Lately my DH and I have both seen a child around, a little girl. We've just seen her a couple times, but still. I try to take deep breaths and let "them" know that they are welcome only if they are loving and positive beings.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I met the GH guys a few years ago at a paranormal conference. It was very interesting, and Jason and Grant were very nice, down-to-earth guys. So sad that Grant isn't investigating anymore (at least for the show).

I definitely believe that children have the ability to see things that most don't. Sometimes it sticks with some people into adulthood. Do you ever have any odd feelings or experiences in the house when the kids aren't there, Country Kids?

Oh My...I had an ongoing experience with a DCG here a few years ago. it started out with my TV popping on and off while she was here, then the lights. I immediately thought I was having an electrical problem.

Then one day the kids were all sitting at the dining table and I was looking for one of the kids' sippy cups. This same little girl said 'that man right there has it'. I said 'what are you talking about?' to which she replied 'the man standing by the refrigerator'. I quickly turned and there was the sippy cup on the counter...I swear I had already looked there. She said 'you scared him away, and now he is gone!'.

When her Mom came to pick her up, I told her what had happened and she covered her mouth and said 'oh my gosh, her Grandmother is supposedly able to speak with the dead and she has repeatedly said the DCG has the same gift and I just refused to believe it'. Right when the Mom was telling me this....the timer buzzer went off on my oven!!! I had not used that timer for YEARS! It scared the heck out of us! The Mom was so freaked out she almost left without her daughter!

                    Pretty weird, huh?

They even have the expression that someone is there. I always think quickly, did I miss a parent coming in, but when I look no one is there. Its only when I'm standing/sitting in one area of our preschool room too, no other area I'm in.

I just find it odd they all do this, not one or two but all 7!
Do they do this in other areas of the house also? I find that when I'm getting on to any kid (mine or not mine) they never want to look me in the face. They always look past me.

Here is a long-winded story along the same lines...I will try to be brief.

My son was about 3 years old, and I was pregnant with my second child. It was about 2 in the morning, and my husband and I heard him talking over the monitor, full on conversation. We listened, chuckling, thinking he was talking in his sleep. Then he says, "Why aren't you talking to me?", then "Are you my new friend?", then "Do you know how to talk? Why are you looking at me like that?"

At this point, we entered his room, thinking some crazy was in there. Nope. Room was empty, and he was looking in the corner of this room. He started describing his new friend. She was really old, didn't talk, smiled a lot, and had crazy white hair.

My husband's grandmother died of complications from a stroke when I was pregnant with him. She lost her ability to talk, but always smiled when we talked about the soon to be born baby. She also had white hair.

The next morning, my m-i-l called to let us know that my husband's grandfather would probably not make it through the night. This is the grandfather that been married to the recently deceased grandmother. He died an hour later.

I am CONVINCED that this visitor was my husband's grandmother, and that she had come to check in on everyone and then welcome her husband back to her.
i got chills reading this. I have had my fair share of "ghost" experiences and I completely believe in all this

I absolutely believe in spirits of various sorts.

                              true story

we moved in to this current house two years ago. my daughter was 3 at the time and had a hard time with it. she's 5 now and STILL talks about our old house. anyway, she wasnt napping and was scared in her room and just had a lot of anxiety about the move. I did pray that everything would smooth out and I do pray often for many things. Anyway, for the next several days, she was totally fine sleeping and all was well. I asked her about it and she said there was a beautiful lady all in white that would come and sit with her during her naps so she wouldnt be scared. I believe that this was an angel or someone looking out for her. my daughter even told me when the angel left (about a week later) and said that they talked about her being fine and about not needing the lady to come anymore. While we do go to church, we had never talked about angels before, what they might look like or anything of that sort. I do believe my daughter was being protected

I believe too. My oldest always saw a man in our home from the time she was little. We all "felt" things. To lighten the mood I told her next time she saw him to let him know his rent was due that no one lives here free. She laughed and we just dont talk abt it much anymore
