    Help Need Letter

    Happy New Year!!!

I have a family interested in child care I know these people ,the DCM and I grew up in the same church.

They are expecting and are looking for care starting in August. I really want to commend her for looking but I cannot hold an infant spot for that long. I am also currently full, but we all know in this business how quickly that can change.

So I have been on vacation for a week and my brain is still on vacation.... LOL

So I need to pick your brains for a letter that expresses how I appreciate that she is looking ahead instead of waiting until the last minute, but I cannot hold a spot for her.

Also do I give her details about my program- because it might not be a good fit for her. For instance I close at 4:30 and maybe she needs later hours, kwim.

    TIA!!!!

    How about this:

    Dear DCM

Thank you for expressing an interest in my child care program. Unfortunately, at this time I do not have space available and do not hold infant spaces for extended periods of time.

Child care is an every changing business so you are more than welcome to contact me closer to the date in which you will be requiring care.

If you have any questions, please contact me any time.

    Thank you

    Provider

Have you asked if she minds paying to hold a spot? I only ask because I have someone doing that right now. They are holding a spot while her husband is laid off (seasonal worker). I told her they could pay to hold the spot, keep the child in attendance full time and pay or roll the dice and see if I have an opening when he goes back to work. I've also had people inquire about it when they are pregnant. I was surprised that so many are willing to do it even though as a daycare provider I understand why we need to charge. If it's hard your area to find infant care the mother may be willing.
