I have a new family (about 3 months). They are on a rotating schedule (2-3 days a week). I think i screwed up. Last week, the Dcm shorted my payment by one day. It was the holidays and I figured I would mention it to her at her next drop offthinking it could've just been an oversight). The next scheduled day, she drops off and runs out (even though I told her we needed to talk). Not a big deal, I figured we would talk at pick up.
She calls during nap time to tell me someone else will be picking up and that the last payment (the one that was shorted) will be NSF. She says she will stop by the next day with the check for both weeks and all fees and we agree to talk about the new contract then (i resign contracts every calendar year). The next day she doesn't show up. I call and leave a message. She texts at 8pm saying sorry her husband forgot to bring it.
I'm upset. Not only did they short me a day, then they NSF, then don't come when agreed. I hadn't mentioned the shorted check because I wanted to talk in person about some things (dropping off early, showing up late, the comment she made to my assistant about not needing care during the summer, etc).
Did I screw up by not mentioning it and asking to speak in person instead? The one that bothers me the most is the not needing care in the summer. The early drop offs/late pick ups are shame on me for allowing it and I'm getting my backbone for that!
