    Open Houses

Thanks BlackCat! I just read in another post that you mentioned having an open house to get clients and I have been thinking about doing that. I will have a FCC and can only take in 5 children, my ratio is 6, but I have to include my baby in it. Has anyone ever had one for their small in home? Is it an effective way to find clients?

I don't have them but a good friend of mine does. She does a big BBQ, rents a jumping house thing, hires her young adult children to do carnival type games, and has lots of food and refreshments for everyone.

She advertises ALL over town, inviting everyone who is interested. She has tons of business cards that she hands out, she has flyers about her care and does small little tours during the event. She makes bulletin boards of the fun activities the DCK's ddo while with her and posts pictures of the kids doing things at her house.

She also offers current parents a discount if they come and help "sell" her program to newbies.

She says it is so fun and that all her neighbors come and chat and the next thing you know she has a neighbor who knows someone who is now interested in the daycare because they know the neighbor and etc etc...connections are made in the strangest ways but why not...if one thing can lead to another and that means business for you then go for it!

I think it could be a cool way to be well known and a bit original!
