OOPS , under charged for drop ins, need to revise handbook

Less than one week after giving it out uughh ! So I told y 2 day a week client 60.00 for her two days, and I made her ad on/drop in says $20.00

I don't charge for days I close . So her amount for next week was $30.00 since im closed n one of those days. She just added on a different day. I did the math as realized it comes out to &50.00 instead of $60.00 since its counted as sn add on day. So then he texts again and asks if she can add on more days for a few weeks in jan . Did the math and it xomes out to less than what I charge for my ft rate so I have no problem changing it to a higher drop in rate, even if it means adding on days moghy actually make the total cost more. Now I realize why you all chwrge more ! Per day , not less . Duh !

So do I owe her an explanaition when I have to tell her so sorry but I have to increase my drop in rate and here is your new parent hand book (?) . I am going to be writing up new contracts next week to have ready by the 31st since the new hand book doesn't go into effect until Jan 1st .

It's just that I told them they had 2 weeks to look it over , and making changes 1 week after giving it out will make it 1week notice instead.

At this point if you wrote $20 in the parent handbook and you want to change it to $30, I might just say it was a typo and you are sorry for the inconvenience and have updated the handbook, here is your new copy. That kind of thing other than changing it again.

My regular daily rate is $35, but I charge $50 for drop in care.

Can you word it to say that since they signed on to be 2 days a week the add on days at $20 don't apply until AFTER they use their alloted 2 days? That way they don't continue to just add on days at a cheaper rate.

I also agree with daycare diva and think you should be charging WAY more for drop ins.

My normal rate is around $30-35 per day and my drop in rate is $50 with an 8 hour max day limit.

Yes! I love that idea. I will do that instead . I wanted to be able to offer a slightly less drop in rate for existing clients who already pay for x amount of days per week. Oh and I did tell her at drop off today, that drop in days/add on days will have to be $30.00 instead because when I. Do it the other way I end up shorting myself . And she said she was fine with that. I could just leave it alone now, actually.

Well for my particular area, drop in is 25/35 max. Any more would be just too much . And for FT its 110-130(the higher end being for infant care in a center) . Home providers charge a flat rate like between 90-120 .
        Thanks for the tips ;-)
