I can mine, and it really doesn't take that long. I can put 3 or 4 on the scanner bed (depending on their size) and scan them, label the file with the date range, and save it. I have my computers linked to Carbonite, so all of my files are backed up in their secure mountains in the middle of Somewhere.
My former business involved a lot of record keeping, and I always worried about a fire or tornado taking my papers or back up ****s or something. I feel much better with Carbonite.- Flag

Take this for what it is worth (a single personal experience) but I was audited two years ago. They did NOT want original receipts. I was told specifically to scan in or make a copy of all my receipts and send the copies. They did not want me to send them any originals.- Flag

i have used neat for years- the neat scan easier but i always have to go in manually to fix the places or amount which can take some time. I have been throught 3 scanner. 2 little ones and one big one which all have stopped working at one point or another and i have lost all my receipts like 4 times over the 8 years using them. now they want you to pay a monthly fee ($24.99 a month) and $400.00 for the scanner.Years ago the software and scanner was a one time fee. i purchased a scanner on amazon for cheaper. still looking for a better program for my receipts that doesn't cost so much and without the head up of losing my stuff- Flag

I just use my printer scanner and scan them into my Google drive. No risk of a computer crashing and losing the info if I save them in my drive. I don't see the need to keep the paper/ regiater copies if they fade anyway. Many of mynitems are bought online so there is no traditional receipt.
Edited to say sorry, didn't realize the date of this thread when I responded.- Flag
