Croupe...

So, My son got croupe on a Thursday night about 2:30am, my DH took off & first thing in the morning took him to the Dr. He was sent home with 2 steroid pills and my DH brought him upstairs all day Friday, no contact with DCK's. My son was better by Sunday, fever broke on Saturday morning.

Now it's Tuesday, and DCB has croupe. I called and had him picked up just after nap when I noticed his wheezy breathing & he said his mouth hurt. They took him to Dr., and sure enough he has croupe. She said if he doesn't get enough sleep, she'll keep him. I want to tell her, DON'T BRING HIM HERE!

I'm guessing all of the kids have been exposed by him being here all morning, but rules are he needs to stay home. I know kids get sick, and I did everything in my power to keep it contained... now I feel bad making them stay home. I need to tell her to keep him, don't I.

Exclusion is only if the child has a fever. I also eclude if I personally feel the child is not up to participating as he normally would.

Those are awesome! I have a 4 yr old girl who has had croup 3 times in the 18 months I've watched her. The parents told me the first time that the doctor said it's not contagious. I stupidly believed them. It would be great to hand this to them the next time she comes down with it.

Are there other sheets for other sicknesses? I'd love to keep a file of several common things to hand out when needed!

Sorry I missed this post. Yep, those are the fact, technical and parent sheets we are provided for almost all childhood illnesses. They are awesome and I use them ALL the time.

Parents argue a lot less when the sheet telling them I am not being mean for excluding is right there in front of them.

I would have posted the whole site but I am glad you found it! It IS super helpful!!!
