    Daycare Upstairs?

Anyone have clearance to operate their daycare upstairs? I know here in Texas, you have to get permission from the fire marshall.. Just wondering if anyone had ideas on what they are looking for or how it works.
Right now I use most of my downstairs space and I was thinking about maybe using one of my upstairs rooms for a preschool room if we expand to a larger family home care/licensed home care program.

Our fire code says upstairs must have a fire escape. Not the pull down ladder kind you can attach to a window, they want a door with a full staircase and hand rails. Also, the angle of the steps couldn't be at too steep of an angle.

I would call your fire Marshall, the laws from city to county to.state are soooooo different ! My CITY required a full escape. I heard the county does not.

I would love to move my house on a flatbed to just over the city line! :::: It was moved to its current location in 1939, so it can handle it. NOT!::
