I didn't take you saying it was cold as an insult. :: It just made me laugh because that is how I talk! LOL! But, I sound pretty cold on a regular basis because of my Asperger's. I'm a very matter of fact kind of person, but I do attempt to be warm and friendly as often as I remember to be. With children, I'm just silly and upbeat anyways so I think my "factual responses" to the things they do still sounds nice and praise-like.
lovethis Seriously, you didn't offend me.
Oh good That is a great idea! I have never thought to scan things and save it! I'll have to do this, my tote is overflowing!

I have a small 3 drawer cubby that has lots of art supplies in it. I have one 3yr old (the rest are under 2) she is constantly making all sorts of things, but I started to notice that her father is becoming annoyed by it. Acually he hates any art stuff she makes. I love that she is so expressive, but too bad her dad hates art.

It also depends on the kids, my group is young so we need direction, but the other child can do it on her own. I like that they make whatever comes to their mind, thats how my kids are too. Hmm, that explains why I have a 7 foot art cupboard.

I am basically more of an 80s throwback. I'm very "Bev Bos". I supply the materials, but I don't suggest what to do. I let them think of things on their own. They come up with good ideas that I never thought of.

        .
        80's throw back to funny.
this is how I was raised and how we did art in school... When the 60's

this is how I RAISED my boys when? the 80's

this is how I still do art with my grand kids.

the is also how my grandmother raised my Mother. in the 20's / 30's

We are all a very creative bunch as a result.

Any books by Mary Ann Kohl are great for process art project ideas. One of the funniest things we do in the summer is to get a big piece of butcher paper and tape it to the fence, then we use tennis balls dipped in washable paints and throw them at the paper to make a picture. After it dries I take a bunch of pics of the kids (who are now covered in paint) in front of what they made and send them to the parents. Then we turn on the sprinklers and they run through them until they are clean. huge hit with the kids and easy for me to set up/clean up.
