    HUGE sickness question!!!

Sickness has been ramped in childcare this week. Kids are averaging a two day miss-mostly to me head colds along with fevers. Coming back either congested or still runny nose/eyes. Not to bad though-I'm not spending my day wiping noses or anything.

Had a couple come back today and one tells me that I need to check if they have a fever throughout the day- Then starts to tell all the kids if your feeling sick tell ***** and she will call your parents to come and get you.

Child is very adiment that I know all about if they aren't feeling well what I need to do. I keep ignoring but they keep talking. I've even told them they are going to be fine but they keep saying "If I'm not feeling well".

    1. Child said they had medicine but not for fever this morning. Old enough to know. So why take medicine?

    2. If kids start saying they aren't feeling well do I call parents or just go with the flow?

    1. I'd call parent to ask what child had medicine for.

    2. I would check temps throughout the day, knowing everyone has been ill (and that parents may have doped kids up to send back) and as soon as one develops send home. I don't send home for common cold symptoms unless it's extreme/child can't control snot/coughing on everything, etc.

Found out no fever! I have awesome parents and they explained why. Just for general not feeling good. Child is doing awesome though and I feel will be here for the day.

All talk of sickness has actually subsided for the time being.

      Off to sanitize!
