    Back to Lying Again

So some of you may have followed some issues that I have with a DCM that constantly lies to me. Mostly about very silly things.

Well yesterday her DCG was out ill. Grannie is in town and dropped off DCG this morning. I ask a few questions making sure DCG is ready to come back. Grannie assures me that all is well, but DCM wanted to bring her yesterday even though DCG ran a fever, vomit and diarrhea all day on Sunday.

I ask grannie was DCG still running fever yesterday morning? Yes.

DCM told grannie, just give her Tylenol and drop her off, she will be fine. But grannie insisted on keeping her home; thank goodness.

So Grannie threw DCM under the bus. Now I have to confront DCM about it, but can't find my words..

ANyone care to help me think of the RIGHT thing to say to this mother.....

BTW I will be terming this family come the end of January.

"Your mother informed me of your intention to drop DCK off ill and medicated yesterday. I undertsand that there are times when it is very difficult for you to find alternate care for your child when she is ill, however your Mom was more than willing to care for your ill child and yet you still insisted that she should be dropped off at daycare. If I EVER hear of somthing of this nature again, or should you ever LIE to me again, your care will be terminated immediatley. I do not appreciate your willingness to unneccesarily expose the other children in care, as well as MY family, to such a horrible virus, and your blatant disregard for policies and your lack of respect for me as your child's caregiver will no longer be tolerated. As of today, you will be placed on probation and should any other such incidences occur, I will no longer provide services for your child"

I am copying this..... I have been too soft on this family with my words..... I wish I had your ability to not sugar coat it and just say it like I mean it..

thanks crystal.....OH way off topic. I turned in some of my charts last night and did as you said.....The teacher loved it and so did the rest of my class. I still have 6 more to do and will try to keep on improving them.... LOVE your ideas and help...thanks so much

At this poing I say why wait until January... terminate the virus-spreader now!
She obviously doesn't understand how easily children can get sick. Or you can try to tell her... "How would you feel if another parent kept trying to dope up their kid before daycare so her kid could pass a daily health check but wound up infecting your child and making another child, YOUR child miserable!" because that is basically what she is doing- doping up her child so that her kid can make everyone else sick and she doesn't have to miss work- even though grandma was more than willing to watch her kid! I would also tell her it is not good to keep medicating her kid to get her through because the medicine is just non-waterproof make up but rest at home is the reconstuctive surgery.

But I would honestly just term her now if you are already going to (unless a new family is going to start and you just need them to get by until then). She obviously only thinks of herself (apparently she doesn't think very much to begin with though) and she has no empathy for any of the other parents or children, or even YOU! It seems like she is a spoiled brat.

What should you say to DCM? 2 word..........YOU'RE FIRED!!!!

I know we don't fire our families, we term them, but I was channeling Donald Trump! If you're terming anyway in January, I would boot her now. It's not worth the headache.

well when I called DCM to come pick up,she did not answer so I called grannie...

Grannie came and said See I told you DCK was not ready to come back, but mom instructed that they were.

I told grannie that I had no choice but to cut ties and that I was sending home a letter. She said my daughter is the most stubborn person I know, I guess she got what she deserves in the end. You don't know a good thing until its gone. she asked me if DCM could call me and try to work things out and I said that this was the final straw following many things that have occurred and please pass on the note.

                          DCM was sad but understood

Well, that probably worked out for the best that you were able to give the letter to grannie. I"m sure she's aware of how her daughter is. One less headache in your life!! Good for you for sticking to your guns!

Wow what a roller coaster. What you said (Crystal's suggestion) is exactly what I would have said especially if I was constantly having issues with DCM. I'm glad that you used your backbone and I'm glad you gave her your walking papers. Can you say FREEDOM!!! happyface
