Worst flu/Early flu in a decade

Just saw on the news this morning that the flu is hitting very early this year and is worse then usual. The flu shot this year actually though is taking care of this strain. So maybe I'll just be off to get it once I clear this cold up I came down with last night.

Just spent two days on the toilet, to bad it didn't help with the stomach flu only a respitory flu.
    I see little people.

      What is a respitory flu?

Silver, can I ask you why you won't/don't get a flu shot?

I get one every year but I do it because my DH is an insulin diabetic and has a compromised immune system so I figure it is the least I can do to protect him from illness since he can't take anything when/if he does get sick.

I think she means respiratory. The flu shot does nothing for the stomach flu which really isn't the flu. Often times when you get the real flu you have respiratory problems with it.

I'm no medical expert, but I believe all 'flu' as in 'influenza' is respitory. 'Stomach flu' is not caused by the influenza virus, so technically is not a 'flu' therefore no flu shot will help with that. 'Stomach flu' is usually gastroenteritis or norovirus etc.

The flu shot protects against influenza, which is different from the stomach flu (gastroenteritis).

Sorry if this is messed up I'm trying to type on my phone
