    Please Just Wait Until I Invoice You...

    I have a dcm that ALWAYS hands me a check Monday morning (that isn't due until Friday) while this is pretty awesome, it is ALWAYS for the wrong amount (her schedule varies, as do her pickup times and I charge for later pick ups). Friday I ASKED her AGAIN to please wait until I invoice her on Wednesday to write her check. She walks in this morning and hands me a check... wrong amount! I fail to understand the reasoning here! She ALWAYS has to write me a new check (and what a waste of checks!)

    I am really considering not accepting payments UNTIL Friday/last day of care as a rule, just to avoid this hassle every week.

    Atleast she is more than willing to pay me! NOT complaining about that!

    I'd just save those checks for Wednesday or Friday (whenever you want), hand it back to her, and give her the invoice for the correct amount. If she starts getting handed back a check every single week it is bound to get old fast.

    At least she is paying you, though! happyface

      Why is this happening? I don't understand... if the check she write you is always for the wrong amount and handed back so she can write another one why doesn't she just wait until she's billed??? ANNOYING!

        I'm willing to bet that the amount of her checks are less than what she really will owe, so she thinks that by paying early every week, she can get away with paying what she wants.

          hehe the bolded really struck me as funny! I'm kind of inclined to think the same thing....Is this true of your dcp?

            Sometimes they are for more though! ::

            It really makes NO SENSE whatsoever, and I do hand her check back, stapled to the invoice with the correct amount every single Thursday. It annoys me because I KNOW it's wrong and it's weekly!

              That is seriously one of the stupidest things I have EVER heard - what a waste of time and paper (and BRAINS)! Just tell her that you won't accept payments until Friday from now on!

                Personally I would just take and hold the check until Wednesday and then when I billed her I'd enter in the amount. If it was less then I'd print out the invoice with her remaining balance and if it was more than what she owed then I'd carry the balance over to the following week. I use MMK Pro though so keeping track of her credit isn't hard to do for me. Can you do something like this instead? This way ay least you could deposit the check right away and have early money .
