    Need help w/idea

For Thanksgiving, I made a turkey and at lunchtime the kids each picked a feather, I wrote what they were thankful for, and we stuck it on the turkey. The kids really liked it, so I'd like to do something for Christmas with a tree and ornaments, but I'm stuck on what to have them write. I like having them say what they are thankful for, but that's not really what Christmas is about and I can't think of how to incorporate other things. I'm afraid if I do love or joy, it'll be lots of toy answers. I'm just drawing a blank right now...ugh. Can anyone help me???

What about Christmas makes them happy ?!?

Once I did a project where we asked each child what they would like to buy for mommy, daddy, etc. Some of the answers were pretty precious, so maybe you could work off that theme, and adapt it...

We did something similar a few years back and asked the kids "What does Christmas mean to you (or your family)? "

It was a nice way to learn about how other celebrate and for parents to see what their children thought about Christmas and what it means to them.

For some it was an eye opener...

It has to be something that they can answer for multiple days. Sorry, I didn't make that clear in the original post

Hmmm, maybe each day could be a different question. What does Christmas mean to you, what would you buy for xyz, etc.
