    made up bleach solution

Can someone give me the ratio for this? I would love to just make my own to spray toys with. Do you need to rinse it? Also, will it bleach carpets or clothing while I spray it? I am legally unlicensed so I do not have to make every day just, do not know the amount of bleach per water. I currently use the Clorox anywhere cleaner & love that it doesn't need rinsed!

Ours in MI is 1 teaspoon to a quart and 1 tablespoon to a gallon of water. Each state is different so you could go on to your states licensing website and find their ration if you wish. We are required to make a fresh batch daily and if we are spraying it or wiping it on as a final rinse after soapy water first leave it two minutes to air dry.
    I see little people.

I've always been told 3/4 tsp bleach to 8 oz cool water. Warm water will break down the bleach faster. Also, you need to mix new spray every day because the bleach breaks down into saltwater so it is not effective after 24 hours. Bleach solution takes 2 minutes to be effective so you can wipe after 2 minutes if you need to use the surface right away but you can also allow it to air dry if you don't need it right away.

        bleach

I just took the health and safty test and we learned this. And the first person to comment on this is right.

You have t rinse your toys if using bleach. And its not made strong enough to leave any marks on your rug.

ratios are different in every state and if sanitizing toys it is much weaker than if cleaning blood

In Mo we use test strips 200 PPM which is about 1/4 t to 1 quart of water.
Never use scented bleach or the ultra bleach.

remember it is WASH RINSE SANITIZE AIR DRY soap neutralizes the bleach so you have to rinse.
          It:: will wait

If you can smell the bleach you put too much!

I'm currently taking a Health, Saftey, and Nutrition class for Child Development/ECE programs in California. We just recently went over this and the instuctors said that (in our state) the solution is 1 tablespoon for every quart (the size of a regular spray bottle) and 3/4 of a cup for every gallon- freshly made daily because the water will weaken the bleach after a few hours.
For small solid toys (that don't have batteries or any fabric) you can just wash them in the dishwasher or in the sink with soap and water then dip them in a gallon container of the home made bleach solution and let them soak for a minute or two then you can either lightly rinse them and wash them with a paper towel or just put them on a dish drying rack and let them dry for a few hours or overnight.

One of my ECE professors said that if you can smell a heavy bleach scent you probably put too much bleach. One of my instuctor for the H/S/N ECE class said that when she did family child care she said the first time made the solution herself and she didn't know she used too much bleach until she saw that one little boy in her program's shirt got bleach stains!

The center I work at has two different ratios.

For spray bottles used on tables and for toys, it's 1 tbs bleach per gallon of water.

For diaper/bathroom areas, it's 1/4 cup bleach per gallon of water

I've spilled half a bucket of of the diaper/bathroom ratioed bleach water onto my jeans and it didn't bleach my jeans or irritate my skin.

We change out the spray bottle solutions every morning.

Each week we have a certain area that gets sanitized. Toys that can get soaked and if needed, scrubbed, go into a bucket with soapy water, then rinsed in plain water, then into a bucket of 1/4 cup bleach per gallon of water for at least 5 minutes. Then rinsed off and air dried overnight. Any items we see children put in their mouths also goes through this process.
