I like my daycare kids because...

I'm in a sentimental mood, and even though I have had a challenging two days with my short people, I really do LOVE my job and LOVE these little people.

DCB #1 is SO SMART! He is 2 and sounding out letters, speaking complete sentences and can have unlimited conversation turns. He has beautiful blue eyes and the whitest hair I have ever seen. He is also so calm, laid back and quiet that you would forget he was here most days if it wasn't for his maniacal laugh! (which is heard often!)

DCB #2 is 3 1/2 and pretty behind in some areas but is making leaps and bounds of progress. I was just telling/showing dcm his progress report from August-now is SOOOO many gains, in motor skills, verbal skills, and even academics! He is the SWEETEST child I have ever met, and is STILL a sympathy cry-er. Although he rarely cries for himself, he will burst in to tears if someone else is hurt. He has HUGE brown eyes, very long lashes and dark dark brown curls that almost look professionally styled.

DCB #3 is just a nut. He is 2 and just starting to put 2-3 words together and the way he says my name is HYSTERICAL. He is the mischievious little one of the group and cannot be trusted alone for a second. He is the clown, the social butterfly, the guy who stuck carrot sticks up his nose and continued to eat at lunch. He is a favorite of my kids because he is SO FUNNY it's hard to resist him! We are always saying "Don't ENCOURAGE HIM!" He has gorgeous auburn hair and green eyes, and is TINY for his age. He has the funniest 'chuckle' laugh.

DCB #4 is 2. Long blonde surfer curls that he blows or flips out of his face and does all.day.long. He has HUGE blue eyes and ridiculously long eyelashes. He is a tall guy, and soooo chatty. He has been speaking constantly since he was born (baby talk was constant, never stopped babbling) He is obsessed with trains, the leader of my group, strong willed, independent to a fault (NO, I DO IT MISS ***!) and a fidgety, happy guy with a contagious giggle.

DCG #1 is 3, sooooo smart, but painfully shy and reserved. She is timid and quiet unless she is with someone she absolutely knows and trusts and then the floodgates open. Girly to the extreme ("Oh no my nail polish is CHIPPED!") but she LOVES to play trucks and in the dirt, although she would never admit this to her Mom, I have photo evidence and she STILL denies it! She is beautiful with her dirty blonde stick straight baby fine hair that I can't do anything with and her hazel eyes. She is also inrecidbly gentle, kind, and I swear I have never, ever, ever had to correct her behavior. EVER, in a YEAR.

DCG #2 is 2. She is almost bald still so we got her cute little headbands with bows so everyone would stop calling her a boy, since she HATES pink, purple, flowers, you name it. She LOVES frogs though! She even picked one up, put it in her pocket and wanted to keep it this summer. I call her my second in command as she is a complete mother hen. "I help you fwiend!" and always telling me what she thinks I should be doing. The way she phrases it is so cute, and not in the least bossy. "Almost nack time? I hewp you wif all dem plates now?" "No you det blue one for him, he like blue." hahaha. LOVE IT.

So, this is what has helped me get through 3o minute 'it's nap time, lay down' routine today and reminded me why I do actually like this job. How about your cuties?

    Forgot my sa'ers!

Dcg is 8. Has the darkest hair and palest skin (I call her snow white!) and the most gorgeous eyes that are the darkest brown with red/yellow flecks. She is brilliantly creative, and although she is way tooo chatty for me most days she is also helpful, kind, sweet and very, very thoughtful (she remembers my birthday EVERY YEAR!) I have helped potty train her, helped her learn letters, colors, numbers and shapes, taken her 'first day of school' pics for the last 4 years! Taught her to play chess, checkers, tie her shoes, ride a bike, throw a punch (she was getting bullied at school, and yes I approved this with Mom!) It has been really fun watching her grow into this sweet young lady who is CRAZY popular.

Dcb is 6. Blonde mohawk and ocean blue eyes who is very kind and although he has special needs (aspergers)and is quite delayed socially, he too is making LOTS of progress this year and is a real pleasure to have. He brings me flowers, pictures and brownies and calls me his best friend. (truth is he doesn't have any friends becuase of his quirks) but I find him entertaining and highly intelligent. I know he will grow up to be a great guy.

DCB 2.75 is the kid I "use" for during daycare hours 2nd interviews. This kid is creative, bold, talkative, and engaging! He is the best advertisement I have. He is usually how I seal the deal for signing new families! He makes friends EASILY with new kids I bring in. He is TROUBLE sometimes, but that's just because he's filled to the brim with AWESOME!

DCB 4.75 is bossy, but occasionally that bossiness is used to my advantage because he makes sure the littles don't get too far ahead during walks. He can build a lego set PERFECTLY and INDEPENDENTLY and follow the picture directions like I never could have imagined and will spend hours quietly doing it.

DCG 2.75 is SOOOOOOOOOO articulate and my friend to talk to! She knows where everything is and will fetch whatever I need. She's a little mommy to all the babies.

DCB 14months just learned to walk and is ADORABLE

DCG 11 months jus learned to walk and the two new walkers waddling around is ADORABLE

DCG 2 and DCG 2 are too new. Haven't bonded yet.

Dcg #1 is the mommy of the group. She's 2 and is always helpful. I never have to correct her behavior. When I give her a task like picking up everyone's plates after a meal I only have to show her once and then she does it on her own every single day. She has pretty blond curls and blue eyes and is the best at picking up toys. I often have to tell her she can stop picking up so the other kids will start.

Dcg #2 is a sweetheart. She is the second youngest of the group and just turned two but can talk in full sentences like most of the others. I love how excited she is to see me every day and how excited she is to see her dad/mom at pick up. Her mom used to always put her dark hair into pigtails but they would be out within 5 minutes of getting here. She's so in control of her belongings she would put them on her wrist so she wouldn't forget them. She knows which blanket, socks, hats. gloves etc. belong to each child and if I forget all I have to do is ask her and she will let me know. She also has Spanish speaking parents and she lights up whenever I say or sing something in Spanish which encourages me to learn even more.

Dcg #3 is the youngest and is not quite 2 yet she's also the newest addition to the group. She's my quiet girl and loves to snuggle on my lap. She had a rough start and used to cry/whimper every day when she got here and most of her part time day but now she's just happy and smiley the whole time she's here. She has the cutest smile but her frown is even cuter because it makes her look like a frowny face it is so completely upside down! She recently discovered the doll house and cracks me up when she peeks through the windows and babbles at the dolls.

Dcb #4 is the youngest boy (2 years) and very quiet. Due to constant ear problems he doesn't talk as much as the others but he's trying hard to catch up and never quits. He never cries and is stingy with his smiles but when he does smile it lights up the room. He is my little one that is scared of things...my talking life sized Santa did not impress him like it did the other children! He LOVES the dress up clothes and I have very few pictures of him where he's not wearing high heels and a big purple dress up hat.

Dcb #5 Is so pretty with his blond curls but he is a tough guy. He and my son both fight to be the alpha of the group (both 2 years old) but it's never particularly physical. Watching them is like watching 2 animals in the wild locking horns. They won't say a word and won't hear a thing I say to try and correct them but they will do this sort of "dance" with each other that is interesting to watch. He is so smart like the others and has a great sense of humor.

I didn't include my children or the 2 older children I have that leave for pre-school but they are all truly precious. I was going through some old photos last night and saw photos of a few of my previous dck from infant to 4 years and was thinking how much I missed their little faces. Most of my dck's have parents that are in college so they end up moving away after their parents graduate. Sometimes I get to see them grow up on Facebook but I sometimes wonder if they remember me and it makes me a little sad.

I love 2 year olds. I don't know about the terrible two's, it's rare we have a fit here, everyone naps and eats well and they are all so funny and loving. I will miss this group when they are gone, just like I missed everyone before them.

            I love positive threads!

Dcg #1 is a dream daycare child. She never gets in trouble, always helps when asked and follows directions. She has a very vivid imagination and plays wonderfully with everyone else.

Dcg #2 is also a dream daycare child who follows directions, helps when asked and plays wonderfully. She is a little more shy than #1 and also a little more dramatic, but everyone just loves her so much!

Dcb #1 is my favorite little guy! He is a little wild and rambunctious, but what boy isn't?! His personality fills my heart with so much love and I miss him greatly when he isn't here. He is the BEST helper of all time and has a huge heart. I have never seen a child his age think of others as much as he does. He constantly is trying to help me and the other children. I've told his mom multiple times that he can never leave and even on occasion asked her to trade her son for one of my daughters ::.

Dcb #2 is my little tank boy. He is big for his age and a little slow and clumsy (I think his big head may throw him off balance), all of which makes him extra cute. He is a real life teddy bear that is always giving hugs and kisses to everyone. His toothy smile will fill a room with happiness and his throaty laugh can make everyone smile.

I have a lot of kids, so I will do an over all..

              I love my DCKs because

              they never judge me
they accept me for who I am

they can laugh, cry and scream all in less than 30 seconds, which creates an exciting day for me

I love all of the innocent things they say and do

I love that they love me no matter what and never question my reasoning
              (I don't have SA kids)

I love all of them in a different way, but I love them all regardless. Each has a very loving quality about them and I adore them to the fullest.

they all keep me on my toes for sure and that never makes a dull moment.
